Cellient Automated Cell Block System

Hologic is committed to helping labs increase productivity and accelerate results in order to provide better, faster and more accurate service, enhancing overall patient care. This is precisely what our innovative cytology solutions such as the Cellient Automated Cell Block System delivers.

The Cellient system is the first fully automated cell block system. The vacuum-assisted filtration concentrates available cells within the block, leaving clinicians with diagnostically useful, higher quality blocks to review more efficiently and accurately — all in under an hour. The Cellient system provides greater consistency, clarity and cellularity from every block.

About

With the Cellient automated cell block system, you can expect improvements over your current cell block technology improvements in capture, presentation and consistency.

Improved capture:

  • Vacuum-assisted filtration.
  • Captures available cells, maximizing cellularity even from small/scanty samples.
  • Built on ThinPrep technology.

Improved presentation1:

  • Helps maintain crisp, clear cellular architecture.
  • Creates concentrations of cells within the block.
  • Allows reviews of cytology and cell block simultaneously.
  • Supports easier, more productive pathology review.

Improved consistency2:

  • High-quality blocks.
  • Fully automated with minimal operator dependency.
  • Less cross-contamination risk.3
  •  Consistently rapid processing time (45 minutes or less).
Features

The Cellient system performs where traditional cell blocks fall short.

TRADITIONAL BLOCKS CELLIENT BLOCKS
Sub-optimal quality Helps maintain crisp, clear cellular architecture
Inconsistent results Minimizes operator error that leads to inconsistencies
Insufficient cellularity Captures available cells, maximizing cellularity — even from small/scanty samples
Long processing times Produces standardized, consistent preparations in less than an hour
Cross-contamination risks Reduces cross-contamination risk
